went to life drawing again in the city. was really tired, but glad that i went. thank you algarmi for driving.

the model was an older man but for some reason when ever i got around to drawing his face i'd draw him as a younger fellow... i guess i perceived him more to be that way.

my desk is a mess, but still has some good stuff on it

friday had friends over for dinner. they brought white choco macadamian nut cookies. the man roasted a chicken and some potatoes and me woman guessed at an apple crisp (it was more like apple slush). the icecream saved it. played some wii bowling and golf. forgot to send joe the friend code again. some friend i am.

saturday went to a baby shower and left before the games started, pfew. i'm no good at games. late at night watched ole hole play at the uptown in oakland. bought their vinyl/cd, yay. went to double dragon somewhere in berkeley, watched drunk people, djs and dancing. shimmied a little myself.

sunday practiced social skills, went for bike ride with girls. had giggly dinner at rudy's can't fail cafe. earlier in the day saw gilles work, and gage's too, both in the mission district. terrific paintings, sculptures. ran out of time and didn't make it to the local 303 - sorry guys! got fired up about doing art again. what the hell am i doing just sitting here on my duff.

intermittently, finishing LTK book and putting together a little artbook for APE. excited about art again. these past few days have been a lot of fun.

lacklustre

scanned many pages for a graphic novel project and found old notes, evidence that i had researched frederic coche many years ago. i was sad i had forgotten him between then and now, as if i had somehow been disloyal all this time. bought this book from bries over the summer, and have read it several times through.

*

read at the main library this morning. nice to see fellow cartoonists but found new company very depressing, unfriendly and overall disinterested in being there. why go if not to be entirely invested?

i hate speaking in public, but i will try my best, even if i do feel like puking from fear after every reading. still messed up a couple of times.

had a fun afternoon with friends and steered clear of lovefest (don't touch me none, you hear?), but after the evening signing returned to the east bay with a sour taste in my mouth. have little patience for the malaise of others.

*

while watching gundam00 completed scanning thumbnails about 3am. there was one surprise, a listing of the flights that went down on 9/11. i had been recording the information from the news, as if that would make the occurence factual, concrete and real.
